All businesses open to the public have potential liability for injuries that occur on their premises or property as a result of the negligence of the business.  Very often, the negligence is the failure to maintain a walkway or other facility in such a way to avoid falls or other physical injury.  There are times when a visitor to the business simply injures him or herself through no fault of the business,  but still claims that the business should be held responsible.  KVL has defended a wide range of businesses against claims for physical injuries occurring on their premises.  While we often work with insurance carriers to provide litigation defense under applicable policies, our clients have also enjoyed successful outcomes where they do not have the benefit of insurance coverage.
